Cathy Moses
May 20, 1955 — March 11, 2024
Catherine Sue Moses was born May 20, 1955 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Leonard Raymond Thompson and Audrey A. (Hopkins) Thompson.
Cathy graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1973. Following high school, Cathy lived in Wyoming for a few years before returning to Knoxville in the mid 1980’s. She worked at the Knoxville Hospital as the head of housekeeping and deliveries. She later worked as a teacher’s aid at the Knoxville High School, before becoming the assistant manager and later manager of the north Dollar General Store. Cathy also worked security at the Knoxville Raceway for over 15 years.
Cathy was a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed racing. Her passion in life was being a caretaker to her family, whom she dearly loved.
Cathy passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Audrey Thompson; sister, Barbara Koons and her husband Gary and sister-in-law, Mary Thompson.
Those left to honor Cathy’s memory include her sons: Chris “Fuzzy” Allen (Darla Lovell) and Jon Allen; 6 grandchildren: Brooke, Trenton, Lily, Audrey, Oliver and Harmony; great-grandchild, Emerson Childress; siblings: Kenny (Loretta) Thompson, Myron (Rhonda) Thompson, Jerry (Zo) Thompson, Paul (Anita) Thompson, Terry Thompson all of Knoxville, and Len Thompson of Nebraska; companion, Glen Asberry and his daughter, Angela Asberry and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
