Carolyn Jean Pitt was born January 12, 1933 on a farm in Madison County, Iowa the daughter of Lafayette V. Diser and Mary Ethel (Alexander) Diser.
Carolyn graduated from high school in Clemons, Iowa. She was united in marriage on February 1, 1952 to Orlyn Langenbau and to this union a daughter, Pamela Sue was born. Carolyn attended Evangelical Hospital Nursing School, in Marshalltown, earning her R.N. Degree. On July 9, 1960, Carolyn was united in marriage to Corwin Bruce Pitt. The couple had 3 sons, James Bruce, Danny Dean and Timothy Gene. In 1980 the couple moved to Glendale, Arizona for Bruce’s health issues. Carolyn worked many years as a Registered Nurse for Collins Hospital, the Knoxville V.A. and the Phoenix V.A. prior to retirement.
In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed playing Skip-bo, Dominos and going to movies. Reading and watching TV (in later years The Game Show channel) was another favorite pastime. She especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events when she was in Iowa.
Carolyn passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021 at a Hospice facility in Gilbert, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lafe and Ethel; husband, Corwin Bruce Pitt and siblings: Rose Marie Davis, Mary Ethel Wall, Elwain Diser and Dwain Diser.
Those left to honor Carolyn’s memory include her children: Pamela Burk (Craig) of Pella, IA, James Pitt (Karen) of Columbia, MO, Daniel Pitt and Timothy Pitt of San Tan Valley, AZ; sister, Elsie Etta Davis of Marshalltown; grandchildren: Michelle Seddon of Bussey, IA, Melissa Cox (Naeda) of Glenwood, IA, Jason Pitt (John) of Springfield, MO, Jessica Remy (Michael) and Kellie Pitt of Columbia, MO, special niece MaryBeth Whitfield (Mark) of Des Moines, IA and great-grandchildren: Shelby and Sam Seddon, Jayde and Jameson Remy, Hilary and Hailey Whitfield, the Davis and Diser nieces and nephews, family members and friends, her longtime friend, Jan Hall of Knoxville.
