Carol J. Borchert was born November 3, 1939 in rural Marion County the daughter of John and Lavon (Abrahamson) DeJoode.
She was raised in rural Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1958. Carol was united in marriage to Don W. Agan and to this union, a daughter, Diana Carol was born. On July 22, 2009 Carol was united in marriage to Ancil Borchert. Carol spoiled everyone she cared about, whether it was her dogs, nieces and nephews, or her granddaughters. She will be remembered as a gentle and loving care giver with a good sense of humor.
Carol passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 75 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands: Don W. Agan on February 2, 2001 and John Junior Fall on December 13, 2004.
Those left to cherish Carol’s memory include her husband, Ancil; daughter, Diana C. Agan of Knoxville; granddaughters: Abigail and Briana Jo Borchert; siblings: Ed (Eunice) DeJoode of Pella, Carl (Linda) DeJoode of Pleasantville, Bob (Nancy) DeJoode of Knoxville, Jerry DeJoode of Belle Plaine, Paul (Dorothy) DeJoode of Topeka, Kansas and Bonnie Mosher of Pleasantville and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services for Carol J. Borchert, age 75, will be held on Monday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will begin after 12:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbia Methodist Church.
