Bruce Robert Clark
January 27, 1948 — June 2, 2023
Bruce Robert Clark was born January 27, 1948 the son of Cecil Rodney and Jane Anne (Greer) Clark.
Bruce attended West Pella Country School until starting the fifth grade at Pleasantville Schools. He graduated from Pleasantville High School with the Class of 1966. Bruce served in the Army National Guard and had worked for Murphy Construction and Harvey Electric. His passion was farming and raising cattle. His family farm earned the Century Farm designation in 2003. Bruce was involved in sprint car racing as an owner and had won several features with Steve Breazeale and others.
In his spare time, Bruce motocross raced with friends and in later years enjoyed talking to friends daily. He liked to hunt arrowheads and looked forward to hunting morel mushrooms every year. He also collected cars, especially 60’s era Camaros and watching western TV shows.
Bruce passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at MercyOne, in Des Moines, at the age of 75 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Jane Anne and brother-in-law, Gary Jordan.
Those left to cherish Bruce’s memory include his brother, Dennis (Linda) Clark and their family: Todd and John and Jodi, Shane and Cale; sister, Patricia Jordan and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Bruce Clark, age 75 of Pleasantville, will be held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at Mason Funeral Home. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in Spurgeon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knoxville Raceway Charitable Organization.
