Brent Leon Hoyt

Brent Leon Hoyt was born April 27, 1966 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Robert Lee Hoyt and Bernice Martha (Stouwie) Hoyt.
Brent grew up milking on the family farm near Pleasantville and always enjoyed farming. He graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1984. During high school he was active in 4-H, FFA and sports. On May 10, 1986 Brent was united in marriage to Freda Klootwyk at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Pleasantville. Through the years, Brent worked for Iowa Pack, Vander Linden Supply, Spahn & Rose, Plumb Supply, Aramark and Rod Jolly. For the last 5 years he drove a semi for Casey’s.
Brent was very active in the Pleasantville community, he was on the FFA advisory committee, Booster Club, North Corp Water Board, the Alumni Association and had coached little league. He was also an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and was integral in the construction of their fellowship hall. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Hawkeyes. The most important part of Brent’s life was his family. Whether he and Freda were attending the girls school events or on a family camping trip they always had fun.
Brent passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Mercy Medical center, in Des Moines, at the age of 51 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert.
Those left to cherish Brent’s memory include his wife, Freda; daughters: Elizabeth Darlene Thill (Jared) and Kaylene Marie Hoyt; mother, Bernice Hoyt; siblings: Barbara Isenberg (Dennis), Beverly Bailey (Daryl) and Brice Hoyt (Kris); sister-in-law, Lila Fast (Robert); nephews a niece and many other family members and friends.
Memorial Services for Brent Hoyt, age 51 of Pleasantville, will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Celebrate Church in Knoxville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Celebrate Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
