Bonnie Lou Swayne was born December 18, 1935 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Isabelle (Nichols) Brown.

She was raised in the Pershing, Iowa area. On October 24, 1953 Bonnie was united in marriage to Larry Dwight Swayne. The made their home in the Knoxville area. Bonnie worked for many years as a cook at the Knoxville V.A. Medical Center and later at Knoxville Hospital & Clinics as a cook and in housekeeping. She retired in 1998. In 2011 Bonnie moved to Monroe, Iowa.

In her spare time, Bonnie enjoyed fishing and trips to Prairie Meadows. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her many grand, great and great-great grandchildren.

Bonnie passed away Monday, August 15, 2022 at her home, in Monroe, at the age of 86 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Larry Dwight; son, Larry Dean; grandson, Patrick; grandson-in-law, Braden Westfall; son-in-law, Timothy Brees and her great-grandson, Isaiah Dethrow.

Those left to cherish Bonnie’s memory include her daughters: Julie DeVries and Missy Kain; grandchildren: Angelia Brees, Dustin (Kim) Brees, Patrick (Heather) Brees, Jenny Swayne, Jessica (Matt) Turner, Julianne Beckett and Jaibrenna Beckett; great-grandchildren: Devon (Amber) Brees, Ember (Tanner) Westfall, Braden (Amber) Westfall, Jared Dethrow, Michael Dethrow, Kaylee Dethrow, William Dethrow, Ashlee Dethrow, Kabrina (Jordan) Stewart, Isabelle Brees, Faith Brees, Cassie (David) Williams, Jake Brees, Dylan Brees, Shyann Brees, Austin Brees, Hannah Brees, Chloe, Caley and Tanner; great-great grandchildren: Roxie Kennedy, Layland Kennedy, Lukas Hughes, Paisley Hughes, Liam Westfall, Havan Westfall, Macey Stewart, Taylyn Williams, Noah Williams, Ayden Brees, Sawyer Sorter and Russell Sorter; brothers: Marvin and Dean Brown and many other family members and friends.
