Fronia Elizabeth “Betty” Prevo was born March 6, 1936 in Paducah, Kentucky the daughter of Willie Edna Powell.
Betty was raised in Paducah and as a young lady she worked for Foster & Gallagher’s in the packaging department. On May 7, 1955 Betty was united in marriage to Charles Elliott and the couple lived in Kentucky until moving to Peoria, Illinois in 1995, then to Knoxville, Iowa in 1968. They owned and operated the Park Lane Motel for several years. Betty later worked at the Knoxville V.A. Hospital in dietetics and laundry until her retirement in 1997.
Betty was very active in the Knoxville Church of God and enjoyed crossword puzzles in her spare time. Betty’s family was important to her and she was loved by her family and friends.
Betty passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at Accura Care Center, in Knoxville, at the age of 88 years.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Elliott; second husband, Cyrus Prevo; son, Darrell W. Elliott; son-in-law, Keith Byerly; great-granddaughter, Tatum Ashcraft and 3 siblings.
Those left to cherish Betty’s memory include her children and their families: Vandra Elliott-Peterson “Dennis” (Marcy Klitzke “Justin” and Jessica Even “Chad” and Laca Malsbury “Aaron”), Cheryl Byerly (Jennifer White and Stephanie Ashcraft “Lawrence” and Mitchell Byerly “Andrea”) and Jim and Heidi Elliott (Chelsie Corcoran “Travis” and Westley “Christie” Elliott and Debbie Ames “Eugene” and James Elliott “Abbie” and Austin Elliott and Erica Elliott); 22 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; six siblings and many other family members and friends.
Burial will be at Maplelawn Park Cemetery, in Paducah, Kentucky, on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Knoxville Church of God.
