Betty Lou Estes was born December 8, 1938 in Russell, Iowa the daughter of Thomas and Viola (Clayworth) Kingery.
Betty attended and graduated from Dallas High School. She worked for the Overall Factory in Knoxville before moving to Davenport, Iowa as a young woman. Betty worked for Warren-Nicholson Company in Davenport and later for Red Jacket Pump. She retired from Red Jacket in 2001. Betty was united in marriage to Robert Estes in 1980. The couple lived in Davenport. Following Bob’s death in 2009, Betty moved to Knoxville to be near her brother, Don.
In her spare time, Betty enjoyed bowling, trap shooting, fishing and camping. She was also an avid reader.
Betty passed away Sunday, January 26, 2020 at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center, in Knoxville, at the age of 81 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father David Dwight Norton; sister, Deloris “Annie” Allen and husband, Bob.
Those left to mourn Betty’s passing include her siblings: Don (Linda) Norton of Knoxville, Bill Kingery of Lead Hill, Arkansas and Barb (Marvin) Shultz of Galesburg, Illinois and many other family members and friends.



A Funeral Service for Betty Lou Estes, age 81 of Knoxville, will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, Iowa.
