Betty Joe Bowen

Betty Joe Bowen was born January 5, 1964 in West Virginia, the daughter of Carl Edward Keffer and Joe Ann (Cooper) Keffer.
She was raised in Attica and attended Twin Cedars Schools. Betty Joe worked for many years as a correctional officer at the Mitchellville prison prior to retirement. She will be remembered as a loving and giving person with a sharp sense of humor.
Betty Joe passed away Friday, August 27, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics at the age of 57 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Keffer; mother, Joe Ann Breese and brother, John “Ringo” Cooper.
Those left to cherish Betty Joe’s memory include her children: Alicia Brown, James Maggard and Shantina Bowen; grandchildren: Riley Dailey and Bradlee Moore; siblings: Carl (Wendi) Keffer and Aaron Keffer and many other family members and friends.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
