Berneil Chambers

Alyce Berneil Chambers was born August 27, 1933 in Marion County, Iowa the daughter of Harry and Madge (Fee) VandeKamp.
She graduated from Attica High School with the Class of 1951. On March 3, 1952, Berneil was united in marriage to Roy Randle Chambers at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. The couple always made Knoxville their home. Berneil did the bookwork for the couple’s business, Randle’s OK Tire until they sold the shop in 1979.
Berneil enjoyed being a homemaker and was well-known for the treats she would bake during the Christmas season. She and Randle enjoyed day trips to the casino during their retirement. Berneil’s greatest joy in life was her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Berneil passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at the West Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 84 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jeffrey Wayne Chambers and her husband, Randle on June 10, 2017.
Those left to honor Berneil’s memory include her children: Randy (Sheryl) Chambers and Kathy Bellon all of Knoxville; siblings: Dean (Bernadine) VandeKamp of Pleasantville and Bill (Jean) VandeKamp of Knoxville; 4 grandchildren: Steve (Stacy) Bellon, Jr., Scott (Monica) Chambers, Jodi Bellon (Dalton Roland) and Todd (Kelsi) Chambers; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Berneil Chambers, age 84 of Knoxville, will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. There will be an open visitation on Friday, November 10th at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home and the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
