Ashley Nicole Firestine was brought into this world December 26, 1993 in Des Moines, Iowa to Lisa Firestine. She was a beautiful 9 lb, 6 oz bundle of joy who made everyone's world happy.
She attended Pleasantville Community Schools, where she was active in band, vocal, and various other activities. She graduated in 2012, and was attending DMACC in pursuit of her Associates Degree, with the intent to transfer to ISU to become an ecologist. She loved her 80's record collection, cooking, traveling, and most of all; her family and pets. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, making crafts, woodworking, and was a big fan of the television show "Ghost Adventures". She traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe; but was especially excited to have traveled to Italy with her mother. She was a beautiful soul that made this world a brighter and better place.
Ashley left this earth on Friday, June 26, 2015 at the age of 21 years. She was welcomed into heaven by her great-grandfather, Floyd Cowman, great-aunt, Molly Kain, and her cherished cat, Binx.
Those left to cherish Ashley’s memory include her mother, Lisa Firestine; siblings: Andrew, Matthew and Zack; her pets: Duchess, Elvis, Kaylee, Rocky, and Casey all of Pleasantville; grandparents, Shirley and Steve Neofotist of Mitchellville; great-grandmother, Ruby Cowman of Malcom, Iowa and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Ashley Firestine, age 21 of Pleasantville, will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at the Mason Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Malcom, Iowa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Marion County Humane Society.
