Arthur James Crandall

Arthur James Crandall was born September 16, 1920 in Hardin County, Iowa the son of John Matt and Susan Anna (May) Crandall.
He was raised in Lucas County, Iowa and attended country school. On June 8, 1944 Arthur was united in marriage to Edna May Rankin. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of Belinda, Iowa. They faithfully attended Pleasant Prairie Church and later the Columbia United Methodist Church. Arthur farmed all of his working life and in later years he mowed roadsides for Lucas County. In 1995, he moved to Knoxville.
In his spare time, Arthur enjoyed woodworking and country music. He and Edna always loved having their nieces and nephews visit. He was a true gentleman and was always kind to others.
Arthur passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Accura of Pleasantville at the age of 100 years.
In addition to his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his son, William Ronald on August 8, 1976; his wife, Edna May on November 25, 1988; his siblings: Laura, Faye Rankin, Velta Irving and Joycy King and his dear friend, Maxine Noftsger.
He is survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
