Arlene Harris Profile Photo
Delia Arlene Cooper Harris was born November 3, 1931 to Mr. & Mrs. John Cooper in Flagler, Iowa; and went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2020. She passed away at Comfort House in Pella, Iowa.
She never really liked Delia, so she always went by Arlene. She graduated 8th grade from Flagler School and did not get to attend high school, but attained her GED later in life.
Arlene played the piano more beautifully than anyone around. She gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 15; and at 18 she left home and traveled with her sister, Elizabeth DeGreef. Liz preached and Arlene played piano and sang. She also played the guitar and accordion. They traveled to numerous states during their ministry until retiring. Arlene then worked for Hormel and later for Pella Corp.
Following the death of her mother in 1978, Arlene bought her home on West Jackson in Knoxville.
She attended the Assembly of God Church for many years, and later made the Church of God her home church.
Arlene married later in life to Bobbie Harris on December 15, 1984. They were married 27 years prior to his death in 2011.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lena; brother, Dwight; husband, Bobbie and sister, Pastor Elizabeth DeGreef.
Arlene will be greatly missed by all who knew her; especially her sisters: Regina McDonald, Sandra LaFollette and Susan Verwers and a myriad of nephews and nieces and dear friends.
