Alma Louise Baldock was born January 1, 1940 in Swan, Iowa the daughter of Cecil and Ellen (Derrickson) Phillips.
She was raised in Swan and attended grammar school there and graduated from Pleasantville High School. After high school, Alma worked for Allied in Des Moines. On June 21, 1958 she was united in marriage to Jerald W. Baldock in Des Moines. The couple have always made their home in the Pleasantville area. In addition to being a homemaker, Alma was a cook at Shorty’s and later at Checkerboard for 25 years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking meals for her family. Alma’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and all her family at their many gatherings.
Alma passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Pleasant Care Living Center, in Pleasantville, at the age of 76 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Max Phillips.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Jerry; children: Debbra Brent of Des Moines, Penny Baldock of Pleasantville, Judy (Jay) Brent of Pleasantville and Tina Hickman of Pleasantville; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters: Frances Templeton and Arlene Phillips and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Visitation for Alma Baldock, age 76, of Pleasantville will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Mason Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Pleasant Care Living Center or to H.C.I. Care Services – Knoxville Office.
