Alberta Mae Miller was born September 26, 1933 the daughter of Dale William and Dortha Mildred (Severns) Kading.
She was raised in the Knoxville area and during high school, Alberta played softball and was the basketball manager for 4 years. She graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1951. On December 24, 1952 Alberta was united in marriage to Marvin Eugen Miller. The couple made their home on a farm near Knoxville. Alberta and Marv farmed and had a welding shop. Alberta was the bookkeeper for the welding shop and raised hogs for years. She also helped Marv and their son, Ron farm as well as running errands for them. Marv and Alberta enjoyed working together, and although they didn’t travel much, they enjoyed a trip to Branson most years.
Alberta passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at the Comfort House in Pella at the age of 89 years.
In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by her son, Ron; husband, Marv and siblings: Kathryn Hicks, Margaret Dillon and Kenneth Kading.
Those left to cherish Alberta’s memory include her son, Don (Michelle) Miller; grandchildren: Joshua (Kristen) Miller, John (Shawn) Miller and Joseph (Shannon) Miller; great-grandchildren: Aysha, Danica, Zak, Ryleigh, Brantley and Dean; brother, Rich (Bev) Kading; dear family friend, Leslie VanderLinden and a host of other family members and friends.
A Funeral Service for Alberta Miller, age 89 of Knoxville, will be held Monday, February 27, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bybee & Davis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with charcuterie served to guests. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Pella.
